In 2016, threeOclock was established as a pilot program in a pop-up space on the upper level of Southgate on Melbourne’s Southbank – sneaking out into its public spaces, with film and performance-based works.

We staged seven exhibitions with over 40 emerging and established artists. Artists explored different exhibition themes, and their answers were framed around a central focus that interrogated topics such as ‘Oceans’ ‘Diversity’ ‘Women’ and ‘Proximity’.

As part of the program, threeOclock hosted the threeOclock Collective in the gallery space, a residency program for emerging artists and curators to practice and exhibit within the space.

The program was enabled through the support of RMIT University and the Centre for Art Society and Transformation (CAST), the Dexus Property Group, Dumbo Feather Magazine, Bastian Design, MRNT Architecture and many others.

threeOclock will continue as a mobile program opening up critical conversations through art and creating more socially inclusive spaces in our cities.
